Being able to share my voice is a gift I don't want to ever take for granted. This blog is a window to my heart & my business. You'll be able to enjoy my latest sessions & photography tips. But I'll also be sharing more of my passions like pursuing a simpler lifestyle and personal images from our day to day.
Last year, I did my first fitness photoshoot and loved every minute of it! I knew that being a Dayton fitness photographer would bring me so much joy. What an honor to showcase the wonderful women out there who are setting examples for their families and their community.
As a former personal trainer and TRX instructor, I know how important it is to treat this one and only body we get like a temple. I love incorporating fitness into my lifestyle. Whether that’s through weight lifting, volleyball, running, TRX, barre or yoga, I know how much better of a wife, mom & business owner I am when I make time to take care of myself. Working out doesn’t have to only be at a gym. It can be anywhere you are…the park, at home, on vacation.
That is what I love about Charito & Monica’s approach to health. These two sisters are inspiring everyone around them to live a happier & healthier life through whole, clean foods, lifting heavy and getting outside.
I can’t wait for you to get a peek at these two amazing sisters and how fitness is impacting them and their family! We started off at the playground to allow Emiko, Charito’s oldest daughter, burn off some energy. She of course loved it! You could see through Emiko’s expressions how much she loved exploring the park with her mommy.
Seeing the special bond between Charito and her two adorable daughters touched my heart. They sure do love their mama! And Esperanzi loves the camera doesn’t she? I was so impressed at how much she was looking at me for only being 5 months old. She had a good reason to look because the camera loves her!
If you’ve ever worked out with kids, you will especially love the ones when they are climbing all over Charito. 🙂 I know I can relate to that feeling!
After Charito approached me about taking their fitness portraits, I knew that this was going to be an amazing photoshoot. Charito & Monica and the babies had me laughing all night long! It didn’t even feel like I was working, but hanging out with great girlfriends.
Not only do they look fit, but they both have hearts of gold. Their sweet demeanors and genuine warmth drew me to them immediately. These two are treasures that their parents are undoubtedly proud of!
I love that they both approach fitness in a healthy way. Not by starving themselves or spending hours at the gym. But by approaching fitness and food as a lifestyle. Using food as fuel for their body to not only work out, but to help them enjoy this one and only life to the fullest.
Do you ever email with someone for the first time and you get so excited because you just know they are an awesome person? That is how I felt after Charito approached me about doing fitness portraits for her business.
As a member of the Air Force, she was given the unique opportunity to take three years off active duty to pursue any personal or professional endeavors. She chose to become a mommy & pursue personal training during her three year sabbatical. Charito loves training women, especially in the postpartum stage, and has been training since 2013.
I could sense her strength & happiness right away as well as the confidence to show other moms that balance between family, career and self isn’t a unicorn. She wants other moms to know that you are beautiful and strong whether you have a six-pack or not. Charito hopes that she can inspire other women to love their body where they are and strive to be even healthier.
If you live in the DC metro area and need a personal trainer, Charito is the woman for you. Charito & her husband, who is also active duty in the Air Force, will be residing there starting in June 2017. I definitely wish I had met this strong mama sooner!
I would be lying if I didn’t think, “wow, I want to have her definition!” when I met Monica. Monica not only looks amazing, but has the down-to-earth personality to boot. Charito actually inspired Monica to get into bodybuilding after she saw her sister on stage. Now, she is a NPC figure competitor, figure suit maker and posing coach. Oh and she’s also a smarty pants mechanical engineer on top of that!
I really enjoyed getting to know Monica, especially since we were nerding it up with some volleyball talk. I just wish she lived a little closer, but Lexington, Kentucky is a beautiful place to reside. 😉
Charito & Monica, it was truly a pleasure to be apart of your journey! I can’t wait to see how far you both go.
