Being able to share my voice is a gift I don't want to ever take for granted. This blog is a window to my heart & my business. You'll be able to enjoy my latest sessions & photography tips. But I'll also be sharing more of my passions like pursuing a simpler lifestyle and personal images from our day to day.
This year is the first year that I offered summer mini sessions & I’m so glad I did! Last year, I offered fall & Christmas mini (here and here) sessions. I usually only offer mini sessions two times per year. I enjoy offering them during busy seasons to make sure I can serve more families than I would be able to if I just did full sessions. Plus, I have so much fun getting to meet new families & catch up with my favorites!
The weather was perfect and actually felt like fall during our summer minis. There were a lot of sweet babies and love to go around. Enjoy!
It’s not every day that I get to photograph a family that loves volleyball as much as mine does. Years ago, Emily, my husband & I played on the same indoor volleyball team. Derek & Emily stay active in the volleyball community here in Dayton as coaches for a Junior Olympic team. My husband & I still play weekly, though sadly not very often on the same night. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll all play in a tournament and the kids can all be our cheerleaders!
I’ve never had a more smily baby than Tobin at a session. He is hands down one of the happiest baby’s I’ve ever seen. One of the sweetest pictures of him is towards the end with his bear. When Emily’s grandfather passed away, her grandmother made this bear out of one of her grandfather’s shirts so that Tobin would always have his great-grandfather with him. My heart melted when I heard that story because there’s nothing better than the love of family.
I’m excited to see who this little 8 month old will become with his effervescent smile & gentle personality. Add in two awesome parents who love him more than life itself and you just know he will do great things.
Last year, I met the Hill’s during their fall mini session with me. We’ve been fast friends ever since and now all go to church together! Getting to know their family over the past year has been wonderful and I hope our friendship grows even more through reassignment and beyond.
I love that every time I photograph this family that Janel asks me to capture joy. What a beautiful & natural thing to capture about a family. I’ll admit, it’s pretty easy to do with them. Here’s a little slice of their mini session with me!
P.S. I’m pretty sure they made new friends at the park…the duck photo bombers!
Sweet little Sage turned one last month. She celebrated with a donut themed birthday as you can see from her outfit & hair bow. I can’t imagine a better birthday theme, can you?
The first time I photographed Sage was last fall during my Christmas mini sessions and she was only a few months old. It’s crazy to look at her now and see how much she’s grown, including her adorable sassy personality. She does not like grass…at all. Once I realized that, the blanket came to the rescue and it was a perfect backdrop for the setting sun.
My favorites though are when her sister, Siena, joined in because Sage lit up once we included her sister. It’s been a blessing to photograph this family so many times over the past few years and I can’t wait to photograph their extended family this fall!
