Being able to share my voice is a gift I don't want to ever take for granted. This blog is a window to my heart & my business. You'll be able to enjoy my latest sessions & photography tips. But I'll also be sharing more of my passions like pursuing a simpler lifestyle and personal images from our day to day.
This weekend, I delved back into senior sessions and what a joy it was to be Lindsey’s senior photographer. I’ve played volleyball with her amazing mom, Pam, over the years and wasn’t surprised when I saw how smart & sweet her daughter was. Not only is Lindsey beautiful, but she is such a humble and kind individual. If her mom hadn’t told me, I never would’ve known that she’s ranked in the top 5 of female cross country runners in the state!
Just the day before our session, she PR’d her 5K time by finishing her meet with a 18:03.5 time. That’s under 5:50 minutes/mile! I’m never considered myself a fast runner, but my fastest average pace during a race was 8:50. I was blown away by her speed! She also casually mentioned that she ran 7 miles after she’d gotten off work just a few hours before our session. She didn’t mention breaking her PR the day before. I had to look it up! I’m glad I did because it showed me just how dedicated she is to her commitments.
Lindsey is not only being recruited by prominent colleges for her athletic prowess, but also for her academics. Lindsey plans to major in engineering. This young woman is clearly the total package and I was honored to be her photographer during this special time in her life.
Through my pre-session questionnaire, she described herself in one word as happy. This is spot on after spending the evening with her. For this reason, I didn’t pick a lot of moody or serious poses for her. She enjoys creeking and hiking so we spent most of our time on the trail or in a creek at a local metropark. We also used a local farm’s sunflower field for a few shots at the beginning.
I hope you are enjoying my favorites from Lindsey’s senior session as much as I enjoyed taking them!
