The Last Bits of Autumn
Last weekend, I finally got to meet this family of three in person after corresponding via email for the past few months. I’m so glad our session date worked out. The cold and rain have swooped into southwest Ohio way too much this past month.
Ashley’s vision for this session was to showcase them in their natural element through a lifestyle portraiture session with beautiful fall colors. We explored Charleston Falls near Tipp City and soaked in the last bits of autumn. This was the perfect location to do that. The fall colors at this preserve were breathtaking & made me glad that the impending Ohio winter is not yet upon us.
The Teague family’s funny & silly dynamic was a delight to capture. You could see how much they cherish their little girl, Amelia, and how she just eats up the attention. It took her awhile to warm up to me, but finally started to give me some of her adorable & genuine expressions. Especially after she heard my Donald Duck impression. She loved exploring the rocks, leaves, grass, anything she could get her hands on. You can tell that she enjoys being outside as much as her mom & dad.
It’s always a treat to photograph a fellow photographer’s family. Ashley & I initially connected through the Dayton TuesdaysTogether Facebook group. If you’re a local creative, this is a great group to connect with. They not only collaborate together, but they are a great support system for creatives. Working from home can feel very isolating, but having others around you who understand the complexities and struggles of owning your own business can be very helpful. I’m excited for Ashley to photograph our lifestyle newborn session when our third little lady makes her appearance in February!
Here are some of my favorites from their family session! And even a few of the headshots we sneaked in for Ashley throughout the session.
