Being able to share my voice is a gift I don't want to ever take for granted. This blog is a window to my heart & my business. You'll be able to enjoy my latest sessions & photography tips. But I'll also be sharing more of my passions like pursuing a simpler lifestyle and personal images from our day to day.

A snowy winter maternity session was always a session I really wanted to do. One of those unicorn sessions I had on my bucket list since I started my business.
A friend of mine referrred Shae & Payton to me. I’m so glad she did because they are some of the sweetest & genuine souls. Initially, they tried to tell me they were awkward in front of the camera, but as you can see they were amazing. Photographing them was effortless and fun. Our session was full of laughs (and cold chattering teeth during our first maternity session).
There is something about seeing that sweet baby bump days before they make their grand entrance into the world. Still kicking around in their mother’s womb. Unaware of what will happen in the next few days.
It must have been destiny that we would have to finish their maternity session a different day. We had to keep rescheduling the second session due to freezing cold temperatures, which is pretty standard in mid February in Ohio. We only had one weekend left before they delivered baby Lily.
As kismet would have it, the morning of our session turned into one of the most magical backdrops I’ve ever seen. The day before had been unseasonably warm. That mixed with the 6 inches of fresh powder that slowly fell overnight created a heavy fog. The kind you see people walking in in the movies.
Pulling up to our location that morning just felt right. There was an excitement in the air that I was going to get the chance to do something really neat. It’s funny because I never schedule morning sessions. But it was the only time that worked out for us and I’m so glad it did. Walking through the woods documenting their love for each other and their soon to be newborn baby was such a blessing for me.
Hearing Shae & Payton’s reaction after I shared their sneak peek and then delivered their gallery is one of my favorite reactions to date. They were just over the moon for their images and working with me. I knew that being their lifestyle newborn photographer in a few weeks would be icing on the cake! You’ll get the pleasure of seeing their newborn session next week :). For now, enjoy this winter scene out of a fairy tale.
